Confirmed: Goldie Cheung quits X Factor

xFactor - Goldie Cheung

The X Factor’s Goldie Cheung has pulled out of the show despite getting though to the Judges’ Houses stage of the competition.

Her withdrawal means another wannabe will be thrown a lifeline; they’ll replace her in the Over 25s group mentored by Louis Walsh.

Goldie Cheung said: “The X Factor has been a fantastic experience and very challenging for me at times. I was very grateful to Louis for offering me a place in the final.

She added: “However, I have decided to withdraw from the competition because I knew I would miss my family so much. I wish all the finalists the best of luck and look forward to watching them every week.

Hong Kong-born Goldie made a name for herself in the first episode of this series, she was filmed being sick as she struggled to overcome her nerves she then took to the stage and gave a truly eccentric performance that ended with her wrapping herself around Gary Barlow.

During bootcamp, she targeted the Take That star again, chasing him around Wembley Arena.

Goldie made an impression from her very first appearance on X Factor when she puked into a bag before stepping on stage. She gyrated to a song called Copper Bell (that no one had heard of), before launching into a rendition of Tina Turner’s version of Proud Mary.

Louis Walsh said: “It was such a shame Goldie had to pull out of the competition. I thought she had great potential to entertain viewers in the live shows.” He continued: “But it has given someone else an amazing opportunity and although it was a hard decision of who to replace her with, I am pleased with my choice.

Of course it could be argued that Goldie shouldn’t have been voted into bootcamp in the first place due to her awful singing she was, however, very good entertainment. But should that have been enough? What do you think? Are you sorry to see Goldie Cheung leave X Factor?

Kelly Rowland feels the love with X Factor proposal

If music be the food of love then X Factor must be caviar as one hopeful discovered in this week’s show.

37 year old Samantha from Hastings had come to the London auditions in the hopes of wooing the judges, , Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh. However little did she know that is was her who would be struck by Cupid’s arrow.

As the singer took to the stage for her audition in front of thousands at London’s 02 Arena she was startled to see her boyfriend Paul sneak on stage after her.

Surprised, she asked him: “What are you doing out here?” Before he got down on one knee and said: “I wanted to borrow just a short moment of your time for Samantha…Will you marry me?

To the judges’ and the audiences’ delight a shocked Samantha said yes! As the crowd gave the delighted contestant a standing ovation she was sent through to bootcamp with four more yeses from the panel.

The happy couple weren’t the only ones in the mood for romance as it looked like Love Takes Over star Kelly Rowland fancied a bit of flirting of her own.

When Perry came onstage to audition it seemed there was chemistry between the pair and she told him: “You’re not supposed to be making me blush!”

The lucky lad, hoping to show her what he was made of, told her: “I have that effect and I haven’t even lifted up my top yet” before revealing an impressive six pack.

His stomach muscles might have been fine tuned, but his vocal chords sadly were not and the Destiny’s Child judge told him: “My darling I must admit I love your abs a little bit more than your voice, it’s going to be a no from me, but I am going to be dreaming about those abs. I counted; it was all eight, just nice.”

So with the first X Factor wedding bells already ringing it could be a bumper year for romance, has anyone caught your eye on the show so far? Who will be the next X Factor heartthrob? Leave us a comment below and let us know your thoughts.
