Feature Points On iOS and Android, Earn Free Money For Downloading Apps

Feature Points
Have you ever wanted to get free money? A new app for Android and iOS, Feature Points, is now offering this feature. The old saying “money doesn’t grow on trees” still applies here. However, if you have an Android or iOS device, you can get rewarded just for using your phone.

More specifically, Feature Points works by providing you with a list of free apps. Each app on the list has a number of points connected to it. After you download this app and use it for 30 to 60 seconds, your account should be rewarded with the points.

The app originated on iOS and was just released for Android in February. In our experience with the app over the past 24 hours, we noticed a few bugs with the WebView interface. Otherwise, if you are worried about Feature Points being a scam, you should be reassured by the fact that Chris Pirillo and other tech junkies used it on iOS.

To get started, visit the following list on your mobile device (+50 bonus points included free). So what do you think about being rewarded for downloading free apps? Is it a good marketing strategy or too good to be true? Let us know in the comments below.

Apple updates 12 Days of Christmas app for the 2012 holiday season

European fans have grown accustomed to Apple’s holiday promotion called 12 Days of Christmas because they can count on a free download every day in a period following Christmas and until early-January. It’s not just apps, Apple usually gives away songs, books and music videos as well.

A dedicated app is crucial to the promotion and today the company has updated the 12 Days of Christmas app for the iPhone, iPod and iPad with gifts for the 2012 holiday season. Download it now to get your free gift starting with December 26, the day after Christmas. The only downside: the promotion is valid outside of the United States only…

Apple writes in release notes accompanying the download:
You and your friends can download a fantastic selection of songs, music videos, apps, books and TV episodes for free. Each download will only be available for 24 hours. Get our 12 Days of Christmas app to make sure you don’t miss out.

You can download the app from the UK App Store right here for free. (Canadian Link)

The app requests permission to send push notifications so it’d be wise to hit the OK button because otherwise you won’t be alerted of new freebies each day.

Apple App Store Ready To Hit 10 Billion Downloads

It won’t be long before Apple App store customers help the company reach the 10 billion programs downloaded level, as is shown by the company’s own giant app download counter (pictured above).

To put the 10 billion mark into perspective at the end of September 2009 the company sat at 2 billion apps downloaded, by January 2010 they were at 3 billion and then through 2010 their numbers more than tripled.

Download sales have been of course helped by not just the Apple iPhone series of devices but also the Apple iPod Touch and the very quick success of the Apple iPad.

The 10 billionth person to download an app from the store will receive a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card, even if the 10 billionth mobile application is a free one to procure.
